Missing source code
Hi, Anybody know of any tools that can decompile a 4ge file (INFORMIX-4GL Version 4.10.UC4)? I've tried the strings command but it doesn't reveal enough of the code. (Oh, how I love people who don't check things into SCCS...) Thanks for any help, Stuart Masson Motorola PCS, Easter Inch Scotland

Substantially, you're stuck. You'd have to use a disassembler (and you really don't want to disassemble the library code, not least because it is boring). The chances are that the disassembler would give you the C code at best (assembly language if not C), so you'd need to reverse engineer that into I4GL. Others have done the same for JAVA, FOXPRO and similar p-code compilers.
