Or who developed DB apps in the first release of Visual C++ and now realize - it takes much longer to develop in Visual C than Delphi/VB. - Their version of Visual C++ has been replaced several times and their apps probably need major rework. Or wrote in Deplhi 1.0 - I've heard the class library is different in Delphi 2.0. Or who write in Java and see MIcrosoft's 'discussion' with Netspace about whether it is still fully supported by Microsoft. Or how wrote in plain Java and now see JAvaBeans, a new JDK and Javascript. Development tools are changing so fast that any application written even 3 years ago will be using tools which programmers today will not want to work and class them as "out of date". Who now wants to work on Windows 3.1 (does Microsoft still offically support Windows 3.1?) and VB 3.0. Tools are changing so fast I'd wait until they settle a bit more and clear winners appear. VB was all the rage now Delphi 3.0 appears to have taken over as the "latest" tool to use.. Any I'm still using 4GL!! -- David Williams
