The smily does not change the meaning of everything that precedes it. e.g. What's wrong Billy ? Can't you add to the thread without getting confused and going off on a tangent ? :-) I didn't notice any change in meaning by adding the smily this time. > I felt that in defense of Informix, I couldn't let the statement go unchallenged. And yet in your haste to defend your chosen RDBMS champion you failed to read and respond to the point made - that the claim was and is slimy ! You obviously think that Informix would not stoop to slimy marketing tactics. Think again. re-read this thread and see what was implied throughout the summer of '94 by your favorite database company. I hope this clarifies my perfectly valid viewpoint ! > And yes, I *have* tried Oracle and I thought it sucked. It's always nice to hear objective criticism. :-) :-) :-) P.S. Billy, others in this newsgroup have requested that this (and similar) discussions go offline. I suggest that, if you feel the need to continue this thread, that we do it *solely* by email and not waste undue bandwidth in c.d.X newsgroups (I can hear the cheers already). I still maintain that my posts to this thread have been valid, whilst yours have been less so ("I didn't really have anything to add to the thread,..."). When you stop posting to this thread I will...
