Re: Hyperscript tools

Thanks to everyone who helped me with opinions/tips on Hyperscript Tools - Could not reply personally to some of them because my mailer refused to accept certain address formats. Well, we are still evaluating the development environment that Hyperscript provides, but performance does not seem too much of an issue now. Though it was too slow on a 386/33, now we have it installed on a Compaq Prolinea 4/33, and it runs quite fast. However, our target platform is a Sparc 10 Model 41, and the local Informix dealer doesn't seem aware of the status of the X version(s). Has anybody out there used Hyperscript on Sparcs or knows when it is due ? I have not used Uniface, Gupta or PowerBuilder, but do these packages provide you any way of buffering/caching data from the server in a local (on the client) database in a user-controllable way ? At an exhibition, I had seen a university research product that used to deliver amazing performance with an Acer 486 client and a Unisys server by automatically tuning the prefetch. It relied on linking the application with some libraries that provided access prediction. Regards, Ramsub
