ontape -r

Hi We are running Online 7.22 on HP 9000 10.20 named logan_ux. We have installed Informix software - 4gl, ESQL/C, Online 7.22. I archived the database to the tape on other HP 9000 10.20 machine which is called k200_ux. After the informix installation is done and I copied onconfig and sqlhosts over to logan_ux from k200_ux but I modified DBNAMESERVER and SERVICENAME for logan_ux, I have tried to restore the database from the tape a few times but it was hung after I answered N or Y to the back up the logical logging and then a few seconds later, the machine locked up. I decided to create a test database with a few tables and archived it on logan_ux then dropped a test database and then tried to restore but it was still hung and also the machine locked up. I had to reboot the machine a few times. Also I tried it on another machine called qa_unix. It showed the same problem. Our Systems Administrator has installed new 10.20 on HP box. Did he miss some HP system resources? The Informix Tech Support have dialed in and looked at the machines and said they have never seen that problem before. However, they believe c debugger may be missing. Does anyone have that experience before and share it with us. Thu
