At first glance it appears PG is selling the last 21% of Informix/Ardent to IBM for $0.1B more than he sold the prior 79% for. But it's not QUITE that bad: (1) According to Yahoo, ASCL has just north of $480M in cash. (2) ASCL bought one or more other companies with some other of the IFMX cash in the meanwhile. So for net $680M or so, IBM is getting the old 20% plus some delta. That still sounds like a better piece of salesmanship than was exercised before.
