This reminds me of a bug [feature? :) ] in 4.11 (& wherever else) where
if a string starts with a numeric e.g. "3hello" (or is null, not sure
about "0"),
it evaluates to false, otherwise true in syntax like:
if stringvar then
call dothis()
end if
