Enumerated types in ESQL/C

Is it possible to make C enumerated types visible ESQL/C ? I've tried something along the lines of: ....... EXEC SQL BEGIN DECLARE SECTION; typedef enum {a, b, c, d, e} a_type; typedef struct { a_type xx; } x_type_t; EXEC SQL END DECLARE SECTION; ....... which results in an error for the enumerated type.
