Windows-based SQL Interface to Informix-SE?

Hi all. My Environment: Server: Informix-SE 6.0 & SCO Unix Workstation: W4WG V3.11, DOS 6.22, Microsoft TCP/IP, I-Net, ODBC, Microsoft Office, FoxPro V2.6, MapInfo, MapBasic My requirement: I have a requirement to provide an "SQL Interface" on the Windows-based workstation. I am assuming the "SQL Interface" is a "user friendly" method of entering/constructing adhoc SQL queries to the Server. The queries will be read-only. Informix Sales have suggested I use NewEra for Windows; however the high cost for the development system (~$4,500 plus Microsoft C++) makes this choice rather expensive. My question: Being a non-database person, though rather experienced (old?) at building new systems, I was wondering if there were lower-priced alternatives to providing an "SQL Interface" on the Workstation?
