Need info on Routine Maintenance for Enterprise Replication

Hi, Our group is implementing Enterprise Replication for our product, and I have to come up with requirements for routine maintenance. In addition, I will have to write script files to implement these requirements. My questions are: 1. Is there a site or a book that discuss what items that should be a part of the routine maintenance in the database world. I tried to looked at the system administration book, but it does not seem to help me much. 2. How often does one need to execute the maintenance scripts? everyday? every two days? every week? If you have any experiences in defining what are the typical requirements for maintenance, I would greatly appreciated if you share that information with me.
