C/A Unicenter & on/tb tape

Greetings..... Here is our situation: We were sold Alexanderia from SpectraLogic for our database/UNIX backups. The UNIX backups/restores work well, but when using ontape for the restore, the restore fails trying to rewind a named pipe. We also own C/A Unicenter and they have told us that they work with ontape. Is there anyone out there who has used Unicenter with ontape or tbtape? I would be interested in hearing about your experiences. TIA.......
