This value (/dev/online_root) is the default value in the onconfig file. It
is extremely unlikely that such a device exists by default, and if it does,
you probably don't want to use it. :-)
Informix is trying to create a root database space for system catalogues and
other key information. Because Informix can't make assumptions about disk
names and the like under Unix (as it might be able to under NT, say), you
*have* to change certain values.
