That said, you have an interesting point. OK - he who knows ER better than I do says: IDS 10.x templates can do the following... cdr define template templatename -M serv1_g -d <dbname> -C always \\ -d <database> --all cdr realize template templatename serv1_g serv2_g serv3_g which will define replicates on all of the tables within the database and replicate them between the three servers. There is another option that will automatically create the tables on the other servers if the tables don't yet exist. That would be --autocreate (and, apparently, there's an optional --dbspace to specify where the table is created). See chapter 6 and appendix A in the ER manual for IDS 10.00 - 25122790.pdf.
