I would have expected the EXEC SQL DATABASE statement to have performed its
own tidying up. Cannot see any reason why it should leave pipe file
descriptors oen.
Have you tried seeing if the esql sqlbreak function helps you at all?
I'm sure informix provide some mechanism to cater for this.
