I'm not sure how the SQL Links works, but there is a DLL (LDLLSQLW.DLL) that is used in both I-NET PC 4.X and I-NET 5.X PC, which is what the SQL Links should be working through. Maybe all you need to to is 'fake' out Delphi SQL Links by setting the DOS environment variables, as was the case in I-NET 4.X for DOS SET INFORMIXDIR=c:\\informix, etc. (check on the exact parameters in your informix.ini file.)
