Does Informix SQL offers this feature? I know that I can use Informix DW studio to do this. But I was looking for a more direct statement bulit in the engine itself.

Pivot as in make the columns into rows and vice-versa? That's not a relational operation, and anyway not supported by Informix in the engine. You could write a stored procedure or UDR to do it for you, however. Art Art S. I know that I can write SPL or 4GL program. it is a relational operator supported in SQL Server and can be used as a part of Select statment. --- On Thu, 1/21/10, Art Kagel <art.kagel@gmail.com> wrote: From: Art Kagel <art.kagel@gmail.com> Subject: Re: pivot / unpivot relational operator in inf.... OK. Pivot is an MS SQL Server extension to the language. It is not standard ANSI SQL and not supported in IDS. Art Art S.
