A user reported that after upgrading from Red Hat 8 to 9 and then updating the kernel to 2.4.20-19.9 (on Red Hat support's advice to fix a network problem), IDS 9.40.UC2 would no longer start, producing assorted shared memory errors, despite repeated reinstalls; 4GL 7.32 and ISQL 7.32 were also in use. Two respondents asked for the specific error messages, and one reported running the same IDS version successfully on the same kernel (2.4.20-19.9smp). No diagnosis or resolution is recorded in the thread.

I upgraded my system from Redhat 8 to 9 and have had nothing but
headaches.
I had my Informix products (IDS 9.40.UC2, 4gl 7.32 and ISQL 7.32) up
and running at one point. Then.... Redhat support had me upgrade my
kernel to 2.4.20-19.9 to fix a problem I was having with my network.
Since then, I cannot get IDS up and running.( I have reinstalled many
times)
I am getting all kinds of weird shared memory errors.
Anyone out there have any recent experiences with Redhat 9 and IDS
9.40.UC2??
Thanks
