Locking on sys tables

Hi, I am having weird errors of locking on sys tables. Just wondering why it is coming and what would be the best way to solve this problem but more interested in knowing why it is coming. Informix Dynamic Server 9.21 on Solaris 8 Here is what We are doing dbaccess $DBNAME <<! >$OUTFILE 2>&1 DELETE FROM amort_yield WHERE yld_date >= $start_date AND yld_date <= $end_date; DELETE FROM client_amort_yield WHERE yld_date >= $start_date AND yld_date <= $end_date; update statistics high for table amort_yield; update statistics high for table client_amort_yield; update statistics high for table security;! sql_err_chk Delete all the yields out in the table for the days being run and then update statistics for a couple tables ---------------- BEGIN DATABASE OUTPUT ------------------- Database selected. 189850 row(s) deleted. 80 row(s) deleted. 211: Cannot read system catalog (sysdistrib). 113: ISAM error: the file is locked. Error in line 1Near character position 43 211: Cannot read system catalog (syscolumns). 113: ISAM error: the file is locked. Error in line 1Near character position 50 211: Cannot read system catalog (sysfragments). 113: ISAM error: the file is locked. Error in line 1Near character position 40 Database closed.
