SPL Question/Problem

Hi, I have a weird problem. I used a global variable to turn the trace on for my stored procedures. This was working fine for sometime but all of a sudden this global variable started to give me problem. The Stored procedures started to run very slowly. If I change the variable to a local variable the procedures got back to there normal speed. Is their a solution to this problem ? Please Help Ramesh
