Not true. The pages cited concern changing the value of the LOGSIZE parameter
in onconfig. This is the parameter used when you add logs using onmonitor. If
you use onparams instead (7.1 Admin. Gd. chap. 40, 7.2 Admin. Gd. chap. 39),
you can specify any size log file you want, and any dbspace.
Informix says:
"You can use either ON-Monitor or onparams to add the log file. You must use
the onparams utility to add a new log file with a different size than LOGSIZE.
If you use ON-Monitor, the size is always the value specified by LOGSIZE."
(Manual: INFORMIX-Online Dynamic Server : Administrator's Guide, Volume 1,
Version 7.1, pg 23-4).

} Hello:
} I am encountering an error when attempting to add logical logs.
} In this particular situation, I needed to add some logs while
} changing the size of others. I began by dropping 3 logical
} logs (to change the size), and then added 3 logs. When I at-
} tempted to add another log (to increase the size from 1 MB to 4
} MB, I encountered the following error:
} Cannot add a logical log. ISAM error: bad log record
} What do I need to examine when running onlog (if that is the
} first task), and what other items should I investigate to find
} a solution? I used onparams to add/drop logical logs. Our
} current version of OnLine is 7.10.UC2 on AIX 3.2. 5. Thank
} you for your assistance.
