backup problems

Anybody can help me? I had a strange behaviour of ONTAPE level 0 The dbspace is 250Mbyte and I always used 2 tapes (150M each one) for my backup. For a period of 3 months, Infornix OnLine 6.0 use 4 tapes to save the data. It said "99 per cent done" at the second tape and then it went forward writing on tape and asking two other tapes. Now it has come back to two tapes, without I did anything strange on the database. Thanks for the help, and sorry for my English (I call from Italy)
