Actually, Oracle provides the Oracle Transparent Gateway for Informix. This product allows Oracle clients to access both Oracle and Informix tables as part of a single transaction. This means that a client that connects to Oracle has access to both the Oracle and Informix tables, including distributed joins from a single SQL statement and two-phase commit. You have the capability of updating both databases as part of a single transaction and having the transaction protected with two-phase commit. You can visit the gateways section at http://www.oracle.com for further information. Dave Dargo ddargo@us.oracle.com
