Trusted JDBC Connections to IDS

Hi Forum,
I understand that it is possible to configure IDS to trust DB connections from
particular hosts, so that a password is not required.
In the past I have done this with 4GL and dbaccess client connections to
remote linux servers, by specifying the client host names in the
'/etc/hosts.equiv' file on the server.
My question is, is it possible to achieve a similar result, but with a JDBC
client connection? Has anyone done this? It would be nice to at least have the
server trust local connections (from the same host) without requiring a
password.
Many thanks,
Rob
