Data Protector Restore
Posted in 2010
We have recently migrated our production and development servers from
Informix 9.4 running on HPUX 11.11 to Informix 11.50.fc4 running on SUSE
(SLES 10)
Under HPUX, restoration of our production database onto the development
server running multiple copies of the production database was possible
by running the following command..:
onbar -r -rename -f mapfile -w
where mapfile contained mapping detail from the production environment
to the relevant development environment.
However, since we have moved onto the new suse server, we can no longer
restore to a different database on a different server.
The database log file shows the following when we attempt a restore ..:
2010-01-08 12:54:31 17883 17881 /opt/informix-11.50.fc4/bin/onbar_d -r
-p -rename -f /home/informix/MAP/tl11.map_from_prod -w
2010-01-08 12:54:32 17883 17881 Chunk renaming successfully mapped.

Has anyone encountered this problem and been able to resolve it?
Does anyone do a similar type of restore on a suse server, and if so,
how?
At this stage I cannot determine if I have a DP error or an Informix
configuration problem.
cheers
