Informix TEXT DATATYPE and Powerbuilder BLOB Data type compatibility

Here is the problem we are having with powerbuilder 5.0.03 using Informix 7.21.UD1 database. Problem desription: The following text had been retrieved from Informix database. Informix Field type is defined as text. Data is retrieved in a Powerbuilder datatype defined as blob using a selectblob statement. --------- Retrieved TEXT in the blob variable declared as lb_blob------ User Search: Auth Groups (List Only): Y~r~n~r~n Auth Grp Auth Grp Auth Grp Auth Grp Auth Grp Auth Grp~r~n ATCCRS1 ~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r ~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~ n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n~r~n Page 1~r~n ------end of retreived text This blob data is then converted to string. string ls_blob ls_blob = String(lb_blob) Finally, it is copied to mle mle_1.text = ls_blob For each combination of ~r~n (return & newline) mle_1 do not insert a new line but displays the text shown above with all those ~r~n's. Instead of inserting a blob into mle, if we hard code the above mentioned text mle displays newline for every combination of ~r~n.
