I don't know why those capabilities are cluttering : up the Informix termcap entries. There is a pair of bugs B24936 and B24937 : which relate to this (they are a pair to ensure that both the Engines group : and the Tools group have to deal with the problem). I will add your more : extensive list of redundant capabilities to the list in the bug report. : Yours, : Jonathan Leffler (johnl@informix.com) #include <disclaimer.h> Jonathan, The only time I ever used the termcap supplied with Informix was on a DG Aviion which ships with -NO- /etc/termcap at all. We try to maintain a reasonable set to use on all machines. I agree with you, the one they supply is pretty wierd. One very interesting thing I bumped heads with them on was the inconsistent use of TERMINFO across various platforms. I asked why they didn't use TERMINFO on DG/UX or AIX and they said the supplied TERMINFO stuff from the vendor wasn't standard, or complete, or ??? They were not specific at all about the problem. What I can't understand is how "standard" does it have to be to support cursor positioning and the arrow keys?!?
