Tracing just one stored procedure

Currently, the company I am working for is using Informix 12.10 on Windows servers. Is it possible to trace all calls to one stored procedure using InformixHQ? I just want the calls and result(s) returned. If I use "trace procedure", do I have to place it before all calls to the procedure? Or is there a better way to accomplish this result. ------------------------------ Joseph McCay ------------------------------
If you mean SQLTRACE, that can only be constrained by database and/or user, not object name. You would have to poll it every few seconds for that procedure name, and in any case the return values are not accessible. You could use "SET DEBUG TO filename WITH APPEND" within the procedure, but the resulting file would be huge and cumbersome to extract what you want. The best solution would be to create a history table into which you insert a row at the end of the procedure. That could include parameters, return values, CURRENT, USER, etc. ------------------------------ Doug Lawry Oninit Consulting ------------------------------
