Hi all,
I am an informix newbie, and i have problems running it on redhat linux 6.0.
The installation went just fine, but now when i start dbaccess and try to
create a new database i get this error message:
25584: Network driver can not access server program
/opt/informix/lib/sqlexecmy sqlhost looks as follows:
amouna onipcpip lake.arrow sqlexec
and i don't see any services file in the /etc directory. I think that my
sqlhost is the source of the problem, but i have no clue why. any
suggestions ???
thanx in advance

onipcpip is not the correct protocol; you should either use onipcshm or
onsoctcp.
You may also need to create a file /etc/services with an entry:
sqlexec 1525/tcp # Informix databases
There may be other issues too, but they're reasonable starters...

something wrong in your sqlhosts file.
Linux IDS only supports "onipcshm" or "onsoctcp".
Look into the release notes for more details:
$INFORMIXDIR/release/en_us/0333/IDS_7.3 etc....

You must have a services file in /etc not $INFOMRIXDIR/etc if you dont then
you have other problems. Make sure of that issue and let me know if you are
