help with datetime query

I have a timestamp in a log in this format: YYYYMMDDHHMMSS eg ..20100329123000 I think there is a way to do this but can't figure it out. what I want to do is compare the time in the log with the current time and be able to determine if the time from the log is an hour old or more. Thanks ! Floyd
