You'll have to crank down online to get it to be a member of the family instead of hogging the whole darn system, but the Xwindow GUIs will compete as well. The CDE prompt on the console takes up 4MB of memory by itself, so it'll be fun for you to get memory you can actually work with. Almost like NT, only it really is UNIX, and a whole lot faster system/investment for the money. You'll want to get a bunch of the patches as well at sun.com, but there's also lots of freeware for it too--the GNU C compiler will probably be your next adventure, as the C compiler doesn't come with the base OS... :-) -- Tim Schaefer \\\\|// tschaefe@mindspring.com (6 6) ------------------------oOOo---( )---o00o--------- INXUTIL April Issue Now on the Web: http://www.mindspring.com
