1. For really big tables, you could, if supported by your version,
run ipload "unload" job on them. I've seen some tables at my site (600
- 1100 MB) benefit from this strategy, as opposed to dbexport. You
could try running multiple ipload jobs until cpu/disk saturation.
2. If you notice that during a dbexport, your hard drives are not 100%
saturated, have a couple of shell scripts run unloads - each with a
different set of tables until your disks are busy.
3. do the above but spread the work out to separate disk buses.
4. If, in the first place, the tables had few extents, this would help
all of the above occur faster.
