Well, I can provide a little help. What's your budget? If you have some money to spend on this, then look at Weblogic's jdbc/Kona: http://www.weblogic.com jdbc/Kona is a server that you would run on a Unix host (it could run on the same machine as Informix, but it doesn't have to). The Mac would use JDBC to communicate with the jdbc/Kona server (called the t3server). The t3server would pass the query on to Informix, and pass the result sets back to the client (the mac). The advantage of this approach is that you don't need native method drivers for each client. The java native methods are isolated to the t3server. Consequently you can use this approach to connect any java supported platform to your database (Windows, Macs, web clients, etc) SCO and Openlink claim to have similar solutions, but I haven't been able to get their demos to work on my Sparc 5. One caveat: The Informix drivers are about to go beta. My experience with jdbc/Kona is with Oracle. I imagine the product will work identically with Informix though.
