Setting up ISM
Posted in 1998
I am using Informix 7.30.uc2 with HP-UX 10.20. I do not have access to an NT workstation to use the ISM gui. I am trying to setup ISM with the command line interface, but the manual is mainly geared toward the gui. I have accomplished the following; 1. ism_startup 2. ism_add - added the administrators 3. ism_add -device /home/extracts/ISM/Fri1 -type file (added a disk device) When I try to label the device with "ism_op -label /home/extracts/ISM/Fri1 -volume 0001 -pool ISMDiskData" I get an error that says "nssrmm: Invalid pool name 'ISMDiskData'". Does anyone know what I am doing wrong? Perhaps I haven't taken all the necessary steps prior to labeling the device. The manual is very unclear on this. Thanks!
