In case you are not familiar with Wingz, it is a graphical spreadsheet which boasts a nice scripting language called HyperScript. We have been generally pleased with the results. The major complaint we have is that Informix has not upgraded Wingz in over three years (1990 - Wingz v1.1, Excel v2.2; 1993 - Wingz v1.1, Excel v4.0). However, since you are interested in the windows platform, you are one of the lucky ones who can now use Informix's new product, HyperScript Tools. HyperScript Tools is a more advanced HyperScript development environment for users who want to develop applications rather than simply use the Wingz spreadsheet environment (although HyperScript Tools still includes spreadsheet tools). From the demos I have seen HyperScript Tools looks VERY nice and is worth investigating. One advantage to using either Wingz or HyperScript Tools is that HyperScript is platform independent - any HyperScript code written in the MS Windows version of Wingz will also run on the Macintosh and Motif versions. The same is promised to be true of HyperScript Tools (except that it currently is only available for MS Windows). Hope this helps. Viel Glueck! Brian O'Sullivan bosulliv@mitre.org MITRE Corp.
