Ravi,
There is a new utility calleb ondblog which can be used to change the
logging status. I believe that a level 0 backup through either onbar or
ontape is still necessary to enforce the change. But look up ondblog first.

This seems to be an easier approach.
$ ondblog unbuf database_name
$ onbar -b -F
