Point of Sale system/ Home accounting

I have release 1.10.00B of INFORMIX-4GL... I am interested in designing two projects: One is a point of sale system, and wondered if anyone out there would have something that I could use as a guide to doing this... I'm also interested in designing a personal home-accounting system, and if there are any examples out there for me to use, I'd appreciate it if someone could send them to me, or direct me as to where to find such.
