We recently upgraded to Informix 4GL 7.2 and after recompiling all our programs, I find I get a message at runtime telling me I need to install an Informix Runtime Facility. I have this loaded. The amazing thing is that if I rename the file, say from abc.4ge to xyx.4ge, the new file will run okay. Does Informix have some file that it keeps names of programs that were at some time not compiled with a runtime version installed? -- Greg Andersen gnandersen@lozier.com

I have this loaded. Hmmm...is everything on the same machine, or are you transferring files between machines? Are you using the INFORMIXDIR that compiled the code to run it? Which version of I4GL-RT do you have loaded? If it isn't also 7.2, then you are not going to get it to work. > The amazing thing is that if I rename the file, say from abc.4ge > to xyx.4ge, the new file will run okay. Very weird. And that's all? I have no ideas. > Does Informix have some file that it keeps names of programs that > were at some time not compiled with a runtime version installed? No, that's a strictly runtime check. -- Jonathan Leffler (jleffler@informix.com, jleffler@earthlink.net) Guardian of DBD::Informix v0.60 -- see http://www.perl.com/CPAN #include <disclaimer.h>
