Re: #1 -- We are still on Delphi 1.0, because of ... #2 -- The INFORMIX SQL link driver is not yet available. Our Borland rep says it is due in ... early October !! (Free or small fee, not sure yet) #3 -- Assuming no operational changes from 1.0 to 2.0, you'll need 32-bit INET on the client , and the 32-bit Borland BDE (unless you want to do more work yourself, and bypass the BDE), and the soon-to-arrive SQL link, as well. The Server has the connectivity S/W built in, so you need only enhance (assuming a UNIX server) your /etc/services, and $INFORMIXDIR/etc/sqlhosts files. #4 -- See #1. >>> Hanno Pet <HPet@svb.nl> 10/01/96 08:33am >>> Hello there, I have an few questions about using Delphi 2.x in relation with online 7.13. 1) When I want to use Delphi developer or client server 2.x what do I need to connect from a PC to a Online server through ODBC. 2) Some time ago I read that the SQL link for Online was not supported by Delphi client server 2.x. Is this true? When is it expected to be available? 3) When I want to work with the SQL link, what software do I need on the Win95 client and the Online server.? 4) What are your experiences with Delphi 2.x in relation with Informix Online. Thanks for answers these questions. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Dutch Library for Visually and Print Handicaped Students and Professionals Hanno Pet Molenpad 2 1016 GM Amsterdam The Netherlands Tel : 020 - 6266465 e-mail: HPet@svb.nl
