Re: Future of Informix.

You spoke for me Mark :-) We have been an Informix diehard group for the last 8 years, but now it's time to move on. Our biggest issue with this company has been the lack of support and help to small consulting firms like us. We tried very hard to get into their partnership program, but they always have some excuse or other to deny us. Even with partnerships, I don't think we would've had any better luck. Take Microsoft or Oracle for example, they'd give their right hand for their partners - education, consulting leads, user groups, and more. All I can say is sooner or later, Informix will realize that partners are the ones that sell their product (I personally take credit for bagging two lucrative contracts for Informix in the New England area in the last three years, without even being a partner). But I don't think a whole lot of us have the patience to sit around for that to happen. So, we have chosen to pursue Oracle - that's a group of four certified Informix DBA's/developers. Oracle has acknowledged the combined strength of our group, albeit so small. Arun Mark Thurman wrote: > We have been an Informix shop sense 1988.
