DRDA gateway for INFORMIX.

Hi Everbody, I wanted to know whether any of you are using informix Enterprise Gateway with DRDA to connectINFORMIX (ver 7.2) database on AIX (RS6000) and DB2(ver 4.0) on MVS. I wanted to know what kind of problems one may face if one is going to use the following set of operations using DRDA : ' One of the difficulties faced is about the two phase commits. If you refer to 'Informix-Enterprise Gateway with DRDA' User Manual Ver 7.1 it says that two phase commits is not supported. You cannot have two transactions one on DB2 and other on Informix database. You need to commit one of them to start transaction on other site. Currently we do commit one transaction and then start another. This poses a problem when the program aborts after completing the first transactions. Is there any workaround this problem? ' We toggle between DB2 database and INFORMIX database using SET CONNECTION. i.e we don't disconnect the databases again and again. So what are the SET CONNECTION implications. ' Can one have a join of two tables one being DB2 and other Informix? How efficient would it be? ' Will there be any concerns/problems in SQL statements involving tables from Informix and DB2 databases ? ' Hints for improving performance for the operations we are doing. We are using cursors to fetch values from DB2 tables.
