This reeks of marketing-speak. Your product does NOT monitor shared memory connections nor does it monitor stream pipe connections. It's still only looking at network traffic, regardless of what spin you put on it. I know of very few applications that operate by establishing a telnet session and sending SQL over the network to a client that is using a shared memory connection. It makes no sense, particularly when the application can establish a network connection directly to the database. Shared memory/IPC connections refer to local-running applications 99% of the time. At least in my experience they do. It's fine that your product can't do this, because even though ours can, it's far from being a zero impact tool. I like seeing third-party support, but I find your advertising confusing and misleading to novice Informix users. The whole telnet functionality doesn't have anything to do with shared memory connections, does it?
