RE: Primary Chunk down - can it be reactivated?

In this kind of instance, Informix Tech support can __sometimes__ dial in
and mark a chunk as "UP".
Call tech support on this one. I have seen them be both successful and
unsuccessful on this.
Worst case scenario: they say no and you're no worse off than you are now.
