Configuring disc drives

We are just getting ready to install our new HP-UX system with an EMC drive. The EMC Symmetrix 3330-18 is 12 physical discs with 217GB Raw capacity. We will be loading a new application and Informix on this machine. My question is how I should or should not have the EMC drive configured. My hardware guy is tossing out lots of options, mostly I think to delay installing the system, such as do I want 2G or 4G drives, stripped and RAID level. I understand the terms but being new to Informix I was wondering if there is an optimal configuration, or a configuration that I should not have. Thanks In advance for any advice.
