IDS 11.5xC7
Posted in 2010
Neil Truby couldn't find IDS 11.50.xC7 on his customers' Passport Advantage sites or the IBM trial download pages, despite announcements about it. Others confirmed it had been released (download ~25 May, media early June) and had downloaded it successfully. Suggested causes/workarounds: search under the new product names (Informix Ultimate/Growth Edition) rather than "Informix Dynamic Server", use the "Try Informix ... Edition now" links on the Informix product pages, or raise it with the PPA team since regional PPA servers sometimes lag. Neil still only saw Workgroup/Enterprise entries, so no confirmed fix for his accounts; one poster also reported missing files (e.g. bin/instterm) in the install and opened a PMR.

I've seen lots of mention recently about 11.5 xC7, both in the context of the new licensing packages which apply only to this version onwards, and generally (eg http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27018789). But it doesn't actually seem to be available, certainly not on my customers' Passport Advantage sites, nor on the IBM trial downloads site, Does anyone know when it is to be made available? Tahnks Neil
It is available. I downloaded it for a customer (using a customer associated account). Please try to check with the passport team what's happening.... The official word I saw is that it was available for download on May 25 and for media shipment early June (like this coming Monday IB). Art Art S. I opened a PMR ..

But, I've tried 3 or 4 customers' sites: all just see Workgroup or Enterprise. So, I still can't to the software, except via Fixpack Central. thx N

So, I still can't to the > software, except via Fixpack Central. > > thx > N Hi Neil, It's probably just the renaming, so try search again or contact PPA and make sure it's a CRIT SIT (as it affects all IBM Informix customers). But for your interest... I've had the same problem before, you dont say which region your PPA accounts are in as last time I checked there seems to be a different PPA software server for each region or so I was told. Maybe try an account in another region? The problems and answers I got before: Someone just forgot to upload the version you wanted to your server (it was available to US customers just not in Singapore). There is not enough space on the server to upload the file. IBM internal blue dollars all have managers in charge of them and nobody wants to spend anything for risk of losing their bonus (e.g. for a bigger disk). So you don't get the software because someone needs to work out what to delete in order to upload a new product (I am not joking).
