Report generator - guidance sought

Our company has a client server/system, which uses an Informix online7.1 database on a Sun Solaris machine at the server. The process' which run at the server are written in Esqlc. The client front-end is VB on Windows . We need a report generating product which can : Be kicked off from a trigger, a system call in a stored procedure, a button click on the VB front end Perform calculations with number fields, parse the contents of character fields an possibly parse the contents of BLOB's Is available on Windows Nt and Unix platforms. We need to design the reports once here at the office, and be able to distribute them with with the product on installation disks. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd be grateful.
