Example: For a node named "data" on the "sub.domain" domain you could have: data data.sub.domain in the /etc/hosts.equiv file on the node "data". You might even be able to use something like: +data +data.sub.domain in the /etc/hosts.equiv file to enable the Informix network software to validate the connection, but keep any other type of connections (like rcp, or rcmd) locked out. But I wonder what you have in the nettype (second) field of your /etc/sqlhosts file that is instructing the use of a network connection rather than shared memory connection (if shared memory connections are supported on your platform)? -- Regards, Walter S.
