I am getting a consistant error when trying to install the JDBC driver on Win9x machines. This happens with both the JDBC 2.0 and 1.5 versions. I run: java -verbose setup and it outputs everything that it is loading until I get to: [Loaded sun.net.www.ParseUtil from C:\\PROGRAM FILES\\JAVASOFT\\JRE\\1.2\\lib\\rt.jar] Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: setup [Loaded java.lang.ref.Finalizer$3 from C:\\PROGRAM FILES\\JAVASOFT\\JRE\\1.2\\lib\\rt.jar] At this point the install stops and nothing else happens. I have downloaded and setup the latest jdk1.2.2 from Sun and everything appeared OK there. Can anyone that has a correct config reply with your 'Classpath' that is in your Autoexec? My programmer is driving me and my MIS up the wall about this. Thanks in advance, Clinton Zimmermann clinton@spamthis_worldsite.com remove the 'spamthis_' to reply via e-mail.
Fixed my errors. I un-installed JDK1.2.2 and re-installed JDK1.1.8. Fiddled a bit with my classpath configurations and couldn't get it to work so I ended up copying setup.class and running the install from my \\jdk1.1.8\\bin directory. Worked like a charm (after disabling Borland's Datagateway!) -CZ CZ <1@2.3> wrote in message news:rsbk2nlej7146@corp.supernews.com... > I am getting a consistant error when trying to install the JDBC driver on > Win9x machines.
