When Informix 7.1 for Solaris 2.3????

> I just got off the phone with Informix after I got my happy letter to > upgrade my Informix Server under my maintenance agreement for no charge > to 7.1 Online for Solaris 2.3. > > I placed my order and they said that Informix 7.1 is not yet available > or Solaris 2.3 even though the letter said it was. They asked if I was > upgrading to Solaris 2.4 as it is available for that OS already. > > When is 7.1 going to ship for Solaris 2.3? Any hints? We use the DEC platform. Between DEC changing from Ultrix to OSF/1 (sigh) and issuing multiple releases of these operating systems each year we have been having a good time keeping the o/s and db systems in synch. Anyway, there's no reason for Informix to port _backwards_ to an o/s which is going away. Don't hold your breath. Upgrade to the 2.4 o/s. This is what we've been told on at least 2 versions of Ultrix and now on 2 versions of OSF/1. Of course I don't work for Informix and their opinions may differ. Especially if you read those propaganda posts from Bill Daul. ;) Movin' with the times... __________________________________________________________________ | Clem Akins Standard Disclaimers Apply | |Reynolds Metals Co, Alloys Plant "Climb High, Cave Deep!" | | Muscle Shoals, Alabama USA cwakins@leia.alloys.rmc.com | |________________________________________________________________|
