Upgrading AIX revision level of server running IDS 9.4

We have Informix Dynamic Server Version 9.40.FC8 running on AIX 5300-04. I recently found that IBM has released AIX 5300-09-02-0849. Has anyone experienced or is aware of any issues with IDS 9.4 on 5.3-09-0849? Are there any special considerations to keep in mind with Informix when updating the OS to the new revision level? Thank you Rob

But I'm interested to know why you would want to take the AIX upgrade. Is it to fix a specific problem? Or, is it just to keep the software up-to-date? If the latter, why would you not adopt the same attitude to IDS? IDS 9 goes out of support at the end of this month.

The reason I cannot upgrade IDS is because it is the backend for our ERP that is maintained by a vendor that does not support IDS greater than 9.4. If i could I would. Thank you for your response.

I still feel that this (ISVs not supporting IDS) is a huge millstone around the product's neck. I mean, why back DB2 in the LUW space rather than IDS?? Is the ISV Lawson?

No, it is not Lawson, it's a smaller company who has developed a appliction specifically for our industry, industrial equipment sales. I agree with your first statement...actually they have decided to migrate their application over to Microsoft's SQL server instead of continuing to the next version of IDS.
