Archecker

Greetings, I have acquired a DLT tape drive (20gb tapes) as the potential replacement for a DAT tape drive (4gb tapes). I use ontape to perform daily database backups. Due to time and database size constraints I do not wish to perform a full system restore to verify the functionality of archiving to this media. During the past several months the utility known as "archecker" has been mentioned as a mechanism to verify an archive. Will this tool be able to verify the archive without performing a restore? Would I be able to trust those results without a restore? I can't find the utility on the IIUG site as David Williams mentions. More important, Art Kagel states that this utility is only available from Informix. Is this the only way to acquire this utility?
